Middle School Spiritual Life

At PCS, we guide students toward a close relationship with God through a more complete understanding of themselves and God’s Word.  It is a holistic approach caring not just for our students’ academic growth, but for their spiritual growth as well.

To encourage a community where peace, grace, and redemption through Christ are evident, PCS provides:

  • Bi-weekly chapels bringing students and faculty together
    • Students participate in student-led worship
    • Guest speakers are chosen by the Spiritual Life Team and speak on relevant Biblical topics
  • Bi-weekly small groups (alternating with chapel):
    • Middle school – Led by teachers, with student helpers from the Peer Leadership program. Discuss topics focused on Biblical views of friendship, kindness, and character development.
    • High school – Led by students, these groups give students a safe place to share from their heart and participate in Biblically-centered discussions.
  • A student worship team to lead worship by example
  • Peer Leadership Program (Middle School): An opportunity for middle school students to learn important servant leadership skills. Student leaders will help with small groups lunch buddies, and a special event each year.
  • Student Spiritual Life Team (High School): Student leaders come together to pray for and help enhance the spiritual life of the school. Students on this team plan and run chapels, small groups, worship nights, Spiritual Emphasis Week, National Day of Prayer, and other related events.
  • Spiritual Emphasis Week every fall: The school community takes a step back from the normal school week to focus on spiritual life. Through daily chapels, focused teaching, and community worship time the theme for the school year comes alive as students hear from different speakers and allow the Lord to move on their hearts
  • Serve Week every spring: Chapel with a special guest speaker focused on service. To end the week, students spend a day in the community, serving with a missional focus. Groups of students, teachers, and parents go to food banks, public elementary schools, parks, shelters, churches, senior centers, and more on our annual Serve Day.
  • Missions trips opportunities
