Admissions Steps: K-12

1. Apply Online

Our ONLINE APPLICATION makes it easy for you to track your admissions status.
In addition to your online application, you will need to submit the following documents:
You may upload these online as part of the application process, email them to admissions@pcschools.org, or bring hard copies to the school.

  • Last 2 years of report cards or a high school transcript that covers the last 2 years
  • Copy of birth certificate or passport
  • Copy of immunization records
  • A non-refundable application fee of $175 per student for the first two students ($50 for each additional student)*

*You will pay this fee online when you submit the application for admission.

Once your application for admission, application fee, and all supplemental documents have been received, and student testing (6-12) is completed, we will contact you to schedule a family interview with the campus principal. At Portland Christian Schools we view education as a partnership between school and home. The family interview is an opportunity to get to know your family and learn more about your student.

4. Notification of Decision

Families will be notified of the Admissions Committee’s decision through email after all of the above steps have been completed.

5. Enroll

If your student is accepted, we will offer you enrollment at Portland Christian by sending you an enrollment packet to complete. Once the enrollment packet is submitted, your student is officially enrolled at Portland Christian Schools.

When should I apply?

While we do not have an application deadline and will continue to accept applications as long as there is space available, we encourage families to begin the application process as soon as possible. The application must be complete and all supplemental documents submitted to the admissions office before an applicant can progress to the next step in the admissions process.

If you are interested in applying for Scholarships or Variable Tuition, your application needs to be submitted by December to take full advantage of those programs and meet their deadlines.

Portland Christian Schools has been blessed with growing enrollment. We value our ‘right size’ approach with small class sizes and student-to-teacher ratios. There is a predetermined classroom capacity for every grade level in our school.

It is possible for the number of applicants to exceed the number of seats available in a designated grade level for the current or upcoming school year. Our goal is to maintain optimal class sizes in each grade level and the wait pool process helps us achieve this. Portland Christian’s Wait Pool is an unranked group of students who have been accepted to Portland Christian Schools, and who we prayerfully hope, will be able to join our school family. Not every applicant is invited to be part of the wait pool.

While seats may become available anytime through the school year due to life changes (moving, etc.), a key time frame to note is in the spring, which is the enrollment change period for current families for the upcoming school year. Wait pool families can typically expect to be notified of grade-level openings for the upcoming school year in March. We will keep families in the wait pool posted if spaces become available at other times throughout the school year.

Portland Christian has developed the following process for any family pursuing enrollment in a grade level that is nearing or currently at enrollment capacity:

  • After a personal tour on campus, applicants must complete the entire admissions application process, including testing.
  • After being accepted in a wait pool status grade, families have three business days to confirm that they would like to be added to the wait pool for a specific grade level.
  • Applications and application fees are good for one calendar year. They can be rolled to the next school year if a seat does not open in the grade level initially applied for.
  • Applicants who have been in the wait pool since the previous school year are given priority in the wait pool if a seat becomes available in the next grade level the following year.
  • Siblings of current students are given priority in the wait pool.
  • If a seat opens in the grade level, families will be notified via email and phone. Families have two business days to accept the open seat before the seat is offered to another family in the wait pool.
  • Families in the wait pool receive the same non-discriminaton status as all families in our school. This statement reads, “Portland Christian Schools admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. Portland Christian Schools does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.”

Please contact our Admissions Director, Nicole Curtis, at admissions@pcschools.org with any wait pool questions.
