2025-26 OCF-Weston Scholarship

This scholarship is made possible by a generous grant from the Joseph E. Weston Foundation through the Oregon Community Foundation (OCF).

The OCF-Weston scholarship is open to:

students who will be entering the 6th, 7th, or 9th grade in the fall of 2025
transfer students (6th – 12th grades) from a public school
PCS 2024 recipients (Check with the PCS Business Office for your eligibility to apply for a renewal)

Application deadline:

The completed online application form, including essays, and the FACTS Grant & Aid Application must be received no later than 5:00 PM on January 10, 2025. Your application will not be considered unless all required documents are received by the deadline. Contact the PCS Business Office if you have any questions about your submitted application.

How to apply:

Read the “Parameters for Portland Christian Schools Scholarships“.
Submit a completed online application form (find the form below these instructions, at the bottom of this page). The application form requires two essays:
- Student essay answering the following questions. There is no expectation of a minimum or maximum length for the essay. Upload the essay below as part of the application form.
  - DO NOT include your name or other personally identifying information in your essay. The application will be assigned a number and will be separated from personally identifying information before being forwarded to the selection committee.
    1. Explain why you would like to attend (or continue attending) Portland Christian School.
    2. What is a meaningful experience, class, or teacher you’ve had in school?
    3. How has it affected you personally?
    4. If applicable, how did it affect your faith?
    5. What do you hope to do or experience in the coming school year?
- Parent/guardian essay answering the following questions. There is no expectation of a minimum or maximum length for the essay. Upload the essay below as part of the application form.
  - DO NOT include your name, your student’s name, or other personally identifying information in your response. The application will be assigned a number and will be separated from personally identifying information before being forwarded to the selection committee.
    1. Please explain any special circumstances that you believe impact this application.
    2. Why is it important to you that your child attend Portland Christian?
Submit a FACTS Grant & Aid Application. Please submit your FACTS Grant & Aid Application as soon as possible. FACTS can take a week or two to process your information.

I understand that scholarship funds will be applied toward the student’s tuition only upon the condition that the student is enrolled in Portland Christian Schools through the school’s regular admissions process; 2. I understand that scholarship funds will be allocated over the course of the selected payment plan. If the student’s attendance terminates during the school year, the scholarship funds will be pro-rated for the time attended; 3. I agree that the student will write a thank you letter to Mr. Joseph E. Weston (c/o PCS) within two weeks of receiving notice of the award. I understand that the award will be applied toward the student’s tuition only after the thank you letter has been received by the PCS Business Office.
